Eureka!

Ideas for stories, gags, inventions
Where do they come from?
How do you get them?

A lot of them happen during that snoozing moment in the morning

Aaaah... blisfull floating between states of consiousness....

then there are those instant ideas

let's see that in slowmotion:

But the best ones occur during work

and then comes the pitching of those 'brilliant' ideas...

Love it! Perfect and so true.

On an unfunny note, I like how, in panel 2, the little stars look a bit like plus symbols. Because it always seems like in dreams, and in that half-dream idea state, that's when your brain is recombining old ideas in new and different ways. So having those +'s between the elements shows how you're like, bird + lightbulb = lightbird; house + robot = robothouse; etc etc.

I now wish i'd put those plus-signs in there deliberatly. haha

Brilliance!
I get the demi-god feelings sometimes late at night after a long hard struggle to make a decent drawing. Tired and losing my mind I'll suddenly decide I've just made the best sketch I've ever made and promptly crawl in bed satisfied with my genius. I'll wake up in the morning to discover it was all a big illusion and start over.

Great ideas!!! I totally agree with all those moments of Eureka. I would add the Shower Eureka too. I usually have lots of ideas when taking a shower and I always ended up getting late to work because I kept thinking about it on the shower for a long time. I usually realize those ideas actually sucks as soon as I leave the shower.

What about the staying up late ideas? I always get better ideas when it's past my bed-time and I'm still awake.

OMG, stop it!.. you're killing me with this funny stuff.

You know, I'll sometimes crack the code on a gag late at night and then go to bed feeling like a genius. I sleep like a baby, but when I wake up in the morning and rush to see my brilliance again, it's not genius at all... it's garbage. -but at least I got a good nights sleep.
